En Aaloda Seruppa Kaanom

Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru

The movie begins with Karthi undergoing a police training to attain the post of Assitant Commsioner. Meanwhile, he meets Rakul Preet Singh and falls in love with her. Though she initially rejects him, she accepts him later on and they also gain acceptance from their families and happily get married, after he gets through his training. As Karthi is a sincere and a hardworking police officer, he constantly faces troubles from both the bad guys and his superiors. Hence he keeps getting transferred to one place or the other.

In the mean time, he comes across a murder of a family committed near the highways, upon thorough investigation Karthi gets to know that this is a recurring crime which has been happening across all the highways within Tamil Nadu. After he understands the seriousness behind the crimes, he approaches his superiors to investigate this issue further, but they advice him to let it go, until a MLA's family suffer the same fate.

Karthi faces a lot of troubles and goes to extreme extends to find those killers, Rakul gets caught in the web of hustels by mistake which endangers her life. The rest of the story revolves around how Karthi finds those killers and save Rakul.

Karthi has donned the police get up for the second time, and he completely slays it. He looks sauve with his fit and trained body. Likewise, he has nailed his performance too, though at times his voice sounds way too loud, he has pulled of the role of a sincere police officer with such ease. Rakul has delivered a neat down to earth performance as a loving wife, though she is through out the film, her role leans more towards a distraction. Bose Venkat plays a pivotal role and has delivered a convincing performance.

H Vinoth, has done a good job at the directorial department, and has to be applauded for trying to throw light to a heinous crime which took place between 1995 to 2005. The way his screenplay has been scripted in the second half explains the depth of investigation he has done on this subject. Yet, the movie could have been a little crisper and shorter and the first half feels to be draggy, even though the love sequences between Karthi and Rakul are on fire.

Sathyan Sooryan's has handled the camera, and his shots are innovative and appreciative. The most talented and underrated M Ghibran has provided the music, and his tunes are on point and sync with the film's genre.

In short, Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, is a honest attempt at a cop film.

Soora Kaathu

An entire village is terrified as they believe that a spirit of a girl is haunting them, Saravana Shakti a ruthless womaniser, uses this fear to his advantage and mistreats the women he lusts after. Nandha Kumar's belief are opposite to the villagers and he tries to make them all to not believe in paranormal activities.

Meanwhile, Saravana lays his eyes on Leema, and tries too attain her. But as she was already in a relationship with Nandha, she gets married to him. The couple leads a happy life, until Nandha suddenly dies, and wakes up as a spirit himself. The rest of the plot revolves around his murder, and whether he saves his wife from the womaniser Saravana.

Nandha Kumar, has produced and is the protagonist of the movie, though he has delivered an ok-ish performance, his ability to emote fear or look fearsome was really poor. Saravana Shakti as a baddie has delivered a convincing performance. But, as a director he has done a below average job. He has totally failed to keep the audience hooked to the film, as the screenplay of a horror genre was hilarious instead of terrifying. Leema's performance was decent.

Parimalavasan has handled the music department, and his songs are tasteless, while his background scores are comparatively better. Kesav's cinematography skills are majorly questionable as the shots and angle are quite decent, but it is shaky through out the movie.

To be made on a relatively low budget to offset the losses incurred on their latest venture Vivegam, Ajith insisted that Siva works with him again on a rural-based script. It is rumoured to be the sequel to Veeram, which was a runaway hit.
A journey which started with Veeram was followed by Vedhalam and Vivegam, Many believed that after the debacle of Vivegam, Ajith and Siva might take a break and work on a different combination.
There were also rumours that Ajith might team up with Vikram Vedha director duo Pushkar-Gayatri next. However, director Pushkar clarified that they’re still scripting their next project, and were pleasantly surprised to hear the rumours about their collaboration with Ajith. They denied the reports,
While the cast and crew are yet to be locked for Thala 58, it has been learnt that composer Yuvan Shankar Raja has been brought on board. Having worked with Devi Sri Prasad in Veeram and with Anirudh Ravichander in his last outings – Vedalam and Vivegam – it will be director’s Siva’s first union with Yuvan.
Yuvan has delivered chartbuster albums for Ajith in the past including memorable ones such as Dheena, Mankatha, Billa, and Arrambam, to name a few. The makers have retained DOP Vetri from Vivegam, and editor Ruben is also said to be on board.
